The International Mobility Program (IMP) was created to assist Canadian firms in hiring international workers on a temporary basis without first completing a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA).

If the position promotes Canada's cultural and economic interests, the International Mobility Program (IMP) allows Canadian firms to hire foreign workers without an LMIA. This allows for speedier processing and a simpler application process than the Temporary Foreign Worker Program, which requires an LMIA and is based on the labour market.

The Employer-Specific Work Permit, which is divided into several streams based on the applicant's work offer. An employer-specific work visa enables you to work in Canada under certain circumstances, such as:

• The name of the specific employer for whom you are qualified to work
• How long you can work
• The location where you can work (if applicable)

Before you can apply for an employer-specific work permit, the employer who wishes to hire you must take certain measures and provide you with either a copy of a Labour Market Impact Assessment or an offer of employment number to include in your application.
