Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)

Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) is for the people who want to become permanent residents based on being qualified in a skilled trade. Applicants should have an offer of full time employment for a total period of at least one year or a certificate of qualification in that skilled trade issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial authority.

The Federal Skilled Trades Program is designed for skilled workers who want to become permanent residents because of their qualifications in a skilled trade.

This is one of three federal programmes managed by Express Entry, our online skilled worker application system.Only individuals with a valid work permit who are already in Canada are eligible for the FST.

To meet the criteria, you must have at least one of these.

Having valid job offer from a Canadian employer or a qualification certificate from a Canadian province or territory.

The FSTP is intended to allow foreign trade workers with experience in eligible trade occupations to immigrate to Canada.
