Applicants in this category must have received a full-time permanent job offer from a Yukon employer in a managerial, professional, technical, or skilled trade occupation (jobs listed under NOC levels 0, A or B).

To be eligible for the Yukon Nominee Program, both the applicant and the employer must meet a number of standards. The following are the applicant's requirements:

• According to NOC, the applicant must have the education, credentials, and work experience required to execute the job they have been given in Canada.
• The applicant must be able to communicate in English or French. Applicants must submit valid test results demonstrating their competence (approved tests include the IELTS or CELPIP for English and the TEF for French).
• If submitting an application from within Canada, the applicant must have legal status in the country at the time of submission.
• To be eligible for this programme, applicants who are studying in Canada on a student permit must show proof of one year of study for certificate programmes and two years of study for diploma programmes. Proof of completion of a Bachelor's degree programme, as well as those enrolled in an advanced ESL programme at a Yukon College, may be considered under this programme.
• Applicants must not have filed a refugee claim.

The employer who is hiring a foreign national must meet the following criteria:

• The employer must show evidence of local and national recruitment efforts (minimum advertising requirement).
• The company/employer must have been registered and operating in Yukon for at least one year OR the employer must be a recognised Yukon government organisation.
• A copy of the employer's business licence must be submitted.
• Employers must adhere to Yukon's labour laws.
• Employers must pay employees at a comparable rate.

For skilled professionals with a permanent, full-time job offer in Yukon, the Yukon Nominee Scheme (YNP) offers an Express Entry-aligned programme. Yukon Express Entry is a type of Canadian immigration programme.

The following requirements must be met by the applicant:

• NOC type A,0, or B must be met by the applicant.
• The employer must demonstrate that there are no qualified Canadians or permanent residents available for the position.
• Using Canada's Job Bank, a qualified applicant is identified and matched.
• The applicant must demonstrate that they are eligible for one of the three Express Entry Economic Immigration programmes.
• An Express Entry profile must be submitted by the applicant.
• The applicant must demonstrate financial stability.
• All documentation needed by the federal government must be provided by the applicant.

The Yukon Express Entry application must be completed by both the employer and the applicant.

The work offered must be in the National Occupational Classification's skill levels 0, A, or B. (NOC).

Candidates in any Express Entry class – Federal Skilled Worker, Federal Skilled Trades, or Canadian Experience Class – may be eligible for a nomination under this programme. Under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), nominated individuals receive 600 points, practically guaranteeing an invitation to apply (ITA) in a future Express Entry draw.

Employers can nominate employees with expertise in low-skilled occupations for permanent residence in Canada under the Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) Critical Impact Worker stream.

• The Critical Impact Worker Stream must fall under categories C or D, and the applicant must have NOC categories A,0, or B.
• The Yukon Nominee Program Application must be completed by both the employer and the applicant.
• The applicant must submit a two-year language test.
• All documents sought by the federal government must be translated into English or French by the applicant.
• All fields on the application must be filled out.

The Business Nominee Program allows foreign business owners and entrepreneurs to apply to run their businesses in Yukon. Before you apply, make sure you meet the following personal and corporate qualifying requirements.

A new stream of the Yukon Nominee Program is the Yukon Community Pilot (YCP). The YCP began in 2020 and will last for three years.

You may be eligible for a 2-year location-restricted open work permit under the YCP if you have a valid Yukon nomination for permanent residence.
