Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

Ontario is Canada’s second largest province. Ontario is also known for its natural diversity, including vast forests, beautiful provincial parks, four of the five Great Lakes and the world-famous Niagara falls. Toronto is the capital of Ontario and it is the most populous city of Ontario.

Ontario is the economic, social, and political heartland of Canada, and is by far the most popular destination in Canada for new immigrants from around the world. The most multicultural province in Canada, approximately half of the country’s new immigrants settle in Ontario, and the province includes people from 200 different countries that speak more than 125 languages. The easiest way to immigrate to Ontario is with a provincial nomination under the Canada Express Entry online immigration system.

Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, you must first be selected for a provincial nomination and then selected again by the Government of Canada through an Express Entry draw. In order to initially receive the Ontario nomination, you must be selected via an OINP EOI draw after submitting an Expression of Interest to the province. Being nominated at the provincial level will add 600 points to your Canada Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking Score, also called the Express Entry CRS. This will greatly increase your likelihood of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency through the federal immigration system

There are three ways you may qualify for a nomination:

Employer job offer category: for workers who already have a permanent job offer from an Ontario employer
Human capital category: for workers who have valuable work experience, education, language skills, and a profile in Canada’s Express Entry system; or for graduate students
Business category: for entrepreneurs looking to start a new or buy an existing business in Ontario
